— Atlanta-based Hip-Hop artists Dee Ace and Booney link on a new feel-good summer jam titled, “QuikTrip.”
Houston-bred Dee Ace and Atlanta’s Booney are easily two of the south’s most criminally underrated underground artists, but that won’t be the case for much longer. With both artists delivering great work so far this year such as Dee Ace’s “yea, alright” single and Booney’s Walk of Shame EP and “Game of Pawns” single, you wouldn’t expect a collaboration between these two to be anything less than a vibe. With that being said, their new single, “QuikTrip,” is just that.
Last collaborating on “CASPER,” off of Booney and SmiffnWe$’s Still Dreamin EP, the duo got right back in their bag on their newest track. Backed by serene production, courtesy of producer Q-No as well as Dee Ace himself, the Houston native kicks off the track with a bouncy and velvety smooth hook before delivering the track’s first verse.
Detailing his hectic lifestyle and his desire for spontaneity and forward motion, Dee Ace emphasizes the importance of living in the moment, uplifting energy, and good company. Whether catching a flight across the globe or enjoying the company of a lovely lady, nothing is more important than cherishing every second as he stated in a recent Instagram post referencing the new single.
“A song we made through conversation about living in the moment and not wasting time. I’m only in town for a lil cause we always on the go chasing dreams and goals but while I’m here, let’s make the most of it”. — Dee Ace
No stranger to sharing feelings of intimacy or embracing the now, Booney essentially embodies the meaning of the song with a short, but incredibly sweet, verse. Effortlessly floating on the beat per usual, the Southside wordsmith speaks directly to a special someone as he simultaneously chronicles his jet-setting lifestyle while expressing his need for momentary bliss as he raps,
In my city, we got hella trees. You in Cali and I love the breeze/
Top of the week, I’m in your city. Weekend, I’ll be overseas/
Oklahoma got dispensaries. DM’s from the DMV/
Short drive down to Tennessee. It’s a short time, don’t be short with me.
All in all, “QuikTrip” is the perfect summer record. With that being said, be sure to listen to the full track right here. Also, be sure to follow Dee Ace and Booney on Instagram to see what they have coming next.
