— San Jose collective Peach Tree Rascals continue their steady run of new music before they embark on their nationwide tour  with the release of their latest single “Lately I.”

Peach Tree Rascals’ latest songs, beginning with “HIGHWITCHA,” “Rendezvous” and their recent collaboration with AG Club “COLD OUTSIDE,” set the stage for a refocused new era for the group following a two-year hiatus since 2022’s End of Time EP. “Lately I” embodies the breezy pop spirit of the Rascals’ early music and refines it into a weightless production from vocalist and producer Dom Pizano, an inescapable melody, and technical rapping from vocalist Issac Pech.

Composed of vocalists Pech, Pizano, Joseph Barros, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq and their creative director Jorge Olazaba, the group began as friends and grew into making music together as an escape from the doldrums of the college experience and an expression of their collective experience as second-generation immigrant Americans. As a group, the Peach Tree Rascals first emerged onto the scene behind breakout hit “Mariposa,” which went viral on TikTok in 2020 — appearing in over 1.6M videos and peaking at number 1 on the Billboard Indie chart. The band’s subsequent EPs — Camp Nowhere (2021) and End of Time (2022), cultivated an international fan base (leading to massive tours across Europe and Asia).

“Lately I’ is about when the pressures of life (politics, careers, health, finances, etc) get so chaotic and overwhelming that all your thoughts and actions are pushing you to leave everything and get back the person/place/thing you love that makes you feel protected and safe from all the noise outside.” — Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq.

In the time since, the Peach Tree Rascals receded from music for a period of growth and reflection, contemplating how to build on their early success independently and for themselves. Now, they’re revitalized with a new collection of intricate and accessible pop tunes coming this Summer and awaiting the launch of their recently-announced For You Tour, which begins June 3rd in Seattle. This upcoming tour will see them play 19 dates across North America with Monét Ngo and FIG including shows in Austin, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Toronto and concluding with a night at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre.
