— Hip-Hop artist Horus Gump returns from his extended hiatus with his new self-assured single, “Good Enough.”

Prior to taking time away from music, Bama-bred and Atlanta-based lyricist Horus Gump had been a staple to Atlanta’s buzzing underground hip-hop scene as he ran his own independent music label, graced stages all across the state, and even curated live shows of his own. Now, dropping his first bars since his 2021 single, “Grow,” Horus reaffirms his unwavering position with his unexpected new single, “Good Enough.”

Crafting the song around the subtly profound phrase used in the chorus, “I ain’t saying that I’m too good for nothing, but some sh*t just ain’t good enough,” Horus Gump makes it abundantly clear throughout the record that he’s quite selective with his time, relationships, and energy — unapologetically I might add.

Produced by Hoffa, the barebones music production did its job and more using minimal audio elements and leaning mostly on a blissful piano melody coupled with a clean and sturdy drum cadence

Following the release of “Good Enough,” Horus also dropped a short track, “Dejitaru Tsuka (Freestyle),” named after an obscure cryptocurrency dedicated to fellow crypto enthusiasts in the know. With just over 60 seconds in runtime, unmixed vocals, and such niche subject matter, the new freestyle appears to be a bit of lyrical exercise as Horus Gump continues to work his way back into “fighting shape.”

Nonetheless, we officially have new music from one of the truly hidden gems of Atlanta’s underground hip-hop community. Whether we get more music soon or not, “Good Enough” is substantial sonic sustenance to feast on for the time being.
