— With an elite ability to sing, act, and dance, JayDon is R&B’s most talented teenager. The 17-year-old mega/gamma.-signed artist displays all three of his triple-threat abilities in the new video for “Lullaby,” his recent ballad, which has more than 3 million global streams to date.
Produced by HARV, a GRAMMY-nominated producer known for hits like Justin Bieber’s “Peaches,” and written by HARV and Felisha King, formerly of the R&B group Cherish (“Do It To It”), “Lullaby” is a lush ballad in stately 6/8 time, welcoming a guest appearance from Paradise to accompany JayDon’s virtuosic vocal runs. In the video, directed by Maseo Refuerzo, JayDon continues to be a natural on camera, singing into the camera with a piercing gaze and firing off dance moves that fit seamlessly within the beat’s gentle swing.
The video for “Lullaby” continues JayDon’s rise as an R&B star for the new generation, joining singles like “Ah! Ah!” ft. 310babii and the USHER-sampling “I’ll Be Good” in demonstrating his immense potential. Earlier this year, JayDon released “Lullaby,” which especially connected in South Korea, where it reached the top of South Korea’s Spotify Viral 50, remaining at the top of the chart for multiple weeks (it currently sits at #8). This Spring, JayDon treated fans to “I’ll Be Good,” incorporating a sample of USHER’s “How Do I Say” and turning into a midtempo banger. “I’ll Be Good” earned praise from Billboard, BET, Rated R&B, and more, and inspired a choreography-heavy music video (750k views). JayDon’s next single, “Boujee Baby” ft. Zeddy Will, arrives later this month. These singles will appear on Me, My Songs, and I, JayDon’s debut EP, coming later this year.
Born JD McCrary, JayDon might be young, but he has a remarkable resume–he’s been captivating audiences as an actor, dancer, and singer for over a decade while cementing himself as an artist for any era. JayDon broke onto the scene with performances on NBC’s Little Big Shots and collaborated with Childish Gambino on the iconic album Awaken, My Love!, which they performed together at the 2018 Grammys at the tender age of 9. With viral covers like his rendition of The Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You,” JayDon has quickly earned fans worldwide. At 10-years-old, he was the youngest male solo artist to sign with Disney/Hollywood Records, leading to his role voicing Simba in the 2019 live-action The Lion King. Later on, JayDon starred as Kenny Payne in the hit TV series The Paynes.
Though he has a skill for acting, music has remained his passion. In the new chapter of his career, JayDon is determined to become a defining male pop/R&B star of his generation. Stay tuned for Me, My Songs, and I, coming later in 2025.
