— Coming off a prolific run in 2020, The Alchemist is back with This Thing of Ours — his third official project of 2021.
It goes without saying that The Alchemist is an absolute legend. His list of accolades in production is too lengthy to name, having worked with Mobb Deep, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Freddie Gibbs, and Jay Z just to name a few. To this day, his apparent passion for music keeps him active and in great shape as he is still regarded as one of the best producers alive. So much so, in fact, that The Alchemist continues to collaborate with some of today’s more talented young MCs, which we can see in his latest EP, This Thing of Ours.
This Thing of Ours, led by the single, “Nobles” featuring Earl Sweatshirt and Navy Blue, incorporates Alchemist’s signature sample-heavy production style throughout the project. Other features include highly gifted artists on the rise such as Pink Siifu, Maxo, Sideshow, and more notably, Boldy James.
For the second half of the EP, The Alchemist also decided to gift us with instrumental versions of the complete songs featured on the first half. So, for those who enjoy Al’s soothing production or even those who may need some beats to kick a few raps to, This Thing of Ours is just for you.
